Our Annual Pedigree Sale was on Tuesday the 14th April. There was an entry of 88 Males (56 AA/22 CH/10 LM) with an overall clearance of 82% of the males shown on the day. In the Angus Bulls the top price of €5000 went to Joe Finnerty from Moygownagh for Garranard Best Boy. He is a five-star bull by Rawburn Jagger Eric and Garranard Lendy. This bull was purchased by a farmer from Dungannon, Co Tyrone for export via Ballina Export Centre. Second in the Angus was Michael Horan with Coolcran Apollo, a bull sired by Laheens Tasty with Coolcran Ulrika as his dam. This bull was bought by a local suckler farmer from Crossmolina for €4650.00. Third was George Brett from Achonry with a five-star Willowbrook Andy bull at €4500.00 purchased by a local dairy farmer from Killala. The average price of the angus bulls was €3250.00 on the day. In the Charolais bulls joint top price on the day was €5500 for a 5-star Nobel Prince bull breed by Fergus Moran from Ballisodare. This bull was purchased by a suckler farmer from Enniscrone. Joint top in this section was breeder Lorcan Leonard from Castlehill with a four-star Ocean bull that was purchased by a suckler farmer from Moygownagh for €5500.00. Third was again Lorcan Leonard with Kileenview Adam, a five-star Reglisse bull that sold for €5000.00 to a Belmullet farmer. The Charolais bulls had an average price of €4370 on the day. The Limousin Bulls had an average price of €4200 on the day. The top price was €5000 for Sean Vaheys for Carrowclogher Vinnie purchased by a local suckler farmer from Crossmolina. Both Thomas Moore from Claremorris (Ampertaine Majestic bull) and Seamus Prendergast (Ardlea Rolex bull) from Aghamore sold their bulls for €4600.00 respectively, both 5 stars bulls to suckler farmers from Templeboy & Crossmolina.
